BRB PixelPops

PixelPops is a keyboard controlled random tone monosynth. It has many features which can only be accessed using notes and velocity. It is suitable for computer glitches, percussive pops and experimental performances.

There are 2 oscillators (X and Y) which are multiplied (to form Z). Each new note-on results in a random pitch and random waveform for X and Y, random pan and volume for X, Y and Z. Retrigger and portamento are controlled by velocity. When played without retrigger PixelPops behaves almost like a 'normal' monosynth. Almost.

Contains a number of 3rd party modules by KDL, RG, RH, SC, and DH.
BRB Audio to MIDI Env

Built at the request of GBSR, this is a simple device to convert the amplitude characteristics of arbitrary audio input signals into MIDI CC. It works in stereo, so the Left and Right channels can be output to different controllers.
BRB-6beat6
6beat6 is a 6-osc experimental VSTi synthesiser. Each osc can generate a sine, triangle or square wave and the osc outputs are combined in a rather 'interesting' way...

6beat6 uses a simple mathmatic process to combine six oscillators. Each osc inputs to a pair of min/max logic filters. These filters will only output the single highest and lowest input waveform values.
The following illustrations only use 3 waveforms for the sake of simplicity:

The minimum and maximum values are then added together to create a single complex waveform:

At this point it all gets rather complicated. Each osc has an influence on the others... Suffice to say, frequency modulation and ring modulation are deeply involved. Somehow. 'Interesting' parameters include series and parallel routing options and the enigmatic N.Q. mode (a stylophonic approach to portamento/glide).

BRB-Hummer

brb - Hummer is intended to add recordings of analogue hum and noise to incoming audio, giving warmth and analogue imperfection to any signal in real-time. However, you can load your own samples or custom waveforms, allowing you to trigger and modulate any looped WAV.
Controlling the Hummer is simple. Parameters include: Gain/Noisefloor, Multiplication Factor (the level of hum in relation to the amplitude characteristics of the input signal), Pitch, Tone, Resonance, Attack, Decay, Ring Modulation Level and Dry Level.
BRB-AudioFM
BRB-AudioFM modulates the frequency of incoming audio. It simply uses a pair of delay modules linked to a series of LFO's to effectivey speed up and slow down any incoming signal.

Left and right channels can be controled seperately, allowing for some very trippy stereo phase action! The plug-in can be used as a generic FM effect, a phaser/flanger/chorus, or to emulate analogue tape modulation.
Parameters include independant Pitch (ranging from nearly 0Hz to around 20KHz) and Depth for Left and Right channels, Dry/Wet Crossover Frequency (to avoid bass phase cancellation) Feedback, and more. You may even load your own waveforms to modulate the signal.
BRB-Xover
X-OVER outputs in stereo ABOVE the cutoff frequency and outputs in mono BELOW the cutoff frequency. Why the hell would you want to do that? Because your ears are so close together.

The lower the frequency of a signal, the longer the wavelength. The longer the wavelength, the harder it is to localise the sound source. We cannot efficiently localise low frequency audio signals if the signal wavelength is significantly larger than the distance between our ears.
We localise sound in many ways but mainly by judging differences in timing and phase... If we hear a sound in the left ear slightly earlier than the right, we assume that the sound originates more from our left than our right. Due to the way the brain is wired up, we will favour stereo phase over amplitude differences when localising sounds.
The brain is not used to recieving bass information in stereo. It feels odd to hear bass and subbass panned or with stereo delay, especially in headphones.
brb x-over allows you to see how much of your 'phat bass' disapears in mono, tidy up the stereo image and create realistic spatial effects for headphones. You could even use it creatively, applying a gradual filter sweep from mono to stereo or vice versa.
Multichannel Variations are available on request, this is the stereo (2 channel) release.

BRB-Convoluted
[GUI design just gets easier, and easier.]
Convoluted is a convolver. It mixes the L and R channels in an interesting way.
This is more of a Proof Of Concept thing than anything else.
BRB-Randypan
[yet another exiting triumph of GUI design]
Randypan is a tempo based random pan effect. It randomly pans audio in sync with your host tempo.
You can also set a crossover so only the frequencies above the xover are panned, plus you can attenuate the stereo width of the frequencies below.
BRB-P.I. VST
[mmm, tasteful]
P.I. is a dual channel Phase Inverter. It reverses stereo waveform polarity.
Unlike many other phase inverters, BRB-P.I. inverts the negative/positive polarity of both the left and right channels simultaneously - and does so with a crossfading action to eliminate sudden clicks.
This is not intended to be anything fancy.
BRB-DC2
DC2 allows you to manually adjust the DC offset of an arbitrary input signal. It allows independant control over the left and right channels as well as a grouped control.

If you don't know why you would ever need this plug-in, you will probably be better off without it. DC offset can be very dangerous. If you break your sound system, it is certainly not my fault. Be very very careful when using this device. You have been warned.
