Alpha 3 allows Frequency Modulation of the Filters Cutoff, a feature only found in very few Synthesizers. The source of the Filter FM can be any oscillator, even noise. Peti uses hybrid FM synthesis technology and was developed primarily
to emulate the sounds of the Harmonium, a member of the Reed Organ family,
which is also known as the "pump organ". The Harmonium, in its smaller form,
is widely used in north Indian music, and its full, sweet sound is often
used in pop and rock music, but Peti is not limited to this instrument alone.

Peti is also capable of emulating a wide variety of reed organ variants,
and can model timbres which resemble the many instruments in this family,
ranging from from accordions to pipe organs, and even the famous melodica
often used in reggae dub music.

Peti was designed to allow the user complete control over a simulated Bellows
mechanism, with 11 different modes providing 'automatic' or 'manual' pumping,
with appropriate modulation of the sound-generation engine's parameters.

It also features two separate 'reed bank' simulators, allowing it to create
the widest possible range of reed organ timbres via its sophisticated
hybrid-synthesis system.

Peti's sound engine is also capable of emulating other key features of

The M-Tron™
is modelled on the legendary British instrument, the Mellotron®. This instrument was manufactured in various guises between 1963 and 1986 and was used by artists including The Beatles, The Moody Blues' Mike Pinder, Black Sabbath, Rick Wakeman and Genesis' Tony Banks. The instrument faded into semi-obscurity during the late 80's and early 90's but due to its ability to impart instant nostalgia, more recently it's been used by Oasis, Radiohead and countless others.

The principle of the Mellotron was simple - Utilising a 35 note keyboard, each key plays it's own piece of tape which contains recordings of real players and, arguably, it was the world's first sampler. The recordings varied from single notes (as in the Flutes sound used on 'Strawberry Fields Forever') or entire musical motifs (as in The Beatles 'Bungalow Bill'). Each sound played for a maximum of eight seconds before the tape returned to the begining. This forced the player to adopt a new and different technique and allowed the music to truly breathe.

However, while the sound was magnificent, because of the huge array of moving parts the instrument's reliability was questionable and the price was expensive. Purchasing an original M400 now would cost several thousand dollars and would probably only come with the default three sounds, Cello, Flutes and Violins. The M-Tron, on the other hand, costs a fraction of this price and now comes with a minimum of 28 sounds that don't require the instrument to be dismantled in order to hear them.

The M-Tron captures all of the character of the original instrument by sampling every note of every key and adhering to the eight second limit of each note. This way, not only do the resultant sounds ebb and flow, all the inherent and nostalgic magic of each sound is closely observed - minor imperfections and all.

Одновременно в плагин можно загрузить до 16 инструментов. Имеется высококачественный встроенный ревер и хорус. Приличное количество пресетов, учитывающих различные составы ансамблей и различные расположение музыкантов на сцене (меняются настройки реверов, панорамы, громкости?). Не смотря на маленький (чуть меньше 200 Мб) по нынешним временам размер (размеры банков современных оркестровых эмуляторов измеряются десятками, а в особо тяжелых случаях и сотнями гигабайт) плагин выдает очень чистый, плотный, и что, пожалуй, наиболее ценно в данном случае ? достоверный звук. Плагин ощутимо нагружает процессор, и с пятисотым ?целером? ставить его бессмысленно. Для тех кто не в курсе: Кроме стандартного хроматического строя, которым пользуется большинство музыкантов, построенном на четкой математической формуле (частота звука каждой последующей ноты, независимо то того диез это или нет, вычисляется как частота предыдущей ноты умноженная на константу 12 32) существует множество других строев, как подчиняющихся математическим зависимостям, так и построенных эмпирически, т.е. е как Бог на душу положит (в основном этнические лады). С помощью микротюнинга, можно настроить ваш виртуальный инструмент нестандартным образом, что позволяет музыканту работать со всякой экзотикой типа пифагорийский лад, арабский, японский, и еще черт знает что?.

Достоинства: Шикарный звуковой модуль, содержащий практически все, что необходимо для написания симфонической музыки на компьютере.

Недостатки: Самым печальным является то, VST- версия плагина не сохраняет свои настройки в проекте. Т. е после работы с плагином необходимо сохранить все ?накрутки? в конфигурационных файлах, и загружать их в начале каждого нового сеанса. Нудно? Но звук плагина того стоит. Еще один минус ? четыре стерео выхода ? это конечно мало. Кроме того, насколько мне известно, официальных обновлений плагина так и не выходило. Жаль?

The NI-SPEKTRAL DELAY differs from the many other audio effects in that it uses real-time FFT (Fast Fourier Transformation) to split up each channel of a stereo signal in up to 160 separately modifiable frequency bands (even up to 1024 bands internally). The level, delay time and feedback amount for each of this bands can be set separately. Additionally, various modulation effects can be applied to the signal in the frequency domain, which allows for even further sound manipulation. The NI-SPEKTRAL DELAY offers exceptionally great possibilities for creative sound design - from subtle corrections and rich effects to the total alienation of the input signal. Never the less, the NI-SPEKTRAL DELAY is easy to use since all parameters are controlled intuitively and comfortably from a sophisticated graphical user interface. The NI-SPEKTRAL DELAY runs either stand-alone or as a plug-in. It offers professional sound quality and can be fully controlled by MIDI.
Creativity and Comfort
Edit Graphs which are intuitive to use and packed with comfortable edit functions are used to set up the delay times and feedback levels for the bands: each of the up to 160 bands per side can be delayed separately and fed back to the delay input with an individual amount. The delay times can be set freely or according to the rhythm via a selectable note grid. The maximum delay time is 12 seconds. The effects achievable with this band delay include rather subtle colorings as well as rhythmic courses of the partial tones and dense, atmospheric sound textures.
The modulation effects of the NI-SPEKTRAL DELAY which are expandable by plug-ins are applied in the frequency domain of the audio signal and offer many unusual processing options - such as rotation of the frequency bands or reverb simulation by 'smearing' the amplitude courses of the bands. The modulation effects make a big contribution to the unique sound possibilities of the NI-SPEKTRAL DELAY.
The amplitudes of the bands are also controlled intuitively by drawing in an Edith Graph with the mouse. In opposite to those of conventional filters, the filter curves resulting from this can have any shape and therefor make possible even very extreme filter settings and sweeps. It is for example possible to completely filter all frequencies while some very narrow frequency bands are still audible. The filter curves can be drawn commonly or separately for the two channels of a stereo signal.

Effects Processor and Performance Tool
Separate feedback delays for up to 160 bands per stereo side, unique modulation effects and freely drawable filter curves make the NI-SPEKTRAL DELAY an exceptional flexible, powerful and creative effects tool. All parameters such as filter, delay and feedback settings can be modulated with an integrated LFO or via MIDI. This makes it possible to create very organic and lively effects which can easily be played live.

The NI-SPEKTRAL DELAY runs on Macintosh or under Windows, either stand-alone with MME, Direct Sound, Sound Manager and ASIO or as a plug-in with a VST- or DirectX - compatible host program. Synthesis

Drumazon synthesis emulates all the sounds of the original
9O9. All the instruments are synthesized in exactly the same
way as the original. All the nuances and detail of the
original are captured perfectly. In addition, all Drumazon
instruments have enhanced controls. This extra functionality
allows the user to adjust the sounds further than on the
original unit. This opens up a whole new world of sound
creation. Listen to the audio demos or tweak it yourself with
the demo version :)

Outputs

Drumazon has a flexible output configuration. Every
instrument's audio signal can be routed to any of the 11
outputs. This allows users to further shape sounds
individually or in groups via their favourite plug-ins.

Each individual output can be set to mono or stereo. Every
instrument also has a Mute and Solo button. Mute will not just
silence the sound, it will stop the sound being triggered.
Solo will stop all other instruments from being triggered and
only allow the selected sound(s) to play.

Control

Drumazon has extensive midi control. Midi notes can be used to
trigger each individual sound. Alternatively, the internal
sequencer can be used. This can be set to play using
Drumazon's internal clock or set to synchronize perfectly to
the host sequencer.

Most of Drumazon's parameters can be automated within the host
and also controlled using MidiCC with an external controller.
An easy-to-use Midi Learn function allows reassignment of any
of the parameters.

Internal Sequencer

Within the internal sequencer, patterns are stored in 8 banks.
Each bank can store up to 12 patterns. Each pattern consists
of 16 steps. Each pattern location has a midi note number
assigned to it. The patterns can be edited traditionally using
the step buttons or using the tap function.

The internal sequencer has various modes of operation. In
Chain Mode, a range of patterns are selected from the internal
banks and are played through in a circular fashion. Patterns
can also be triggered freely by selecting the corresponding
midi note (for example, from a midi controller keyboard).
External controllers can be used in any mode to provide full
control over pattern playback.

A Randomizer function is also provided within the internal
sequencer. It can be used to make simple changes to a pattern
or create a whole new one - ideal when your creativity needs a
boost! Randomizing can be applied to specific instruments and
specific steps. The frequency of occurrence can also be
adjusted to give you just the right amount.

Files are stored in the XML format. This allows single
patterns or whole banks to be exchanged between users easily.
XML allows the files to be edited in a text editor. Ideal if
you want to post or share a pattern on a web site -just post
the text!

Presets

The settings for each instrument can be stored in it's own
preset. Each instrument preset can be loaded in individually.
This allows maximum flexibility when putting kits of
instruments together. A dedicated Preset Manager is provided
to help the user manage the sounds within their own unique
library.

Requirements

Drumazon is available in VSTi format at the moment for both
platforms (PC and Mac).

It's a dynamic library (.dll file) for PC and Universal Binary
bundle for Mac.

To use the product you need Windows 2000/XP or Mac OS X 10.4.3

"What makes funky music sound as if it genuinely came from the spaced out 70's? We listened endlessly to crackly vinyl in the studio, listened to those who've tried to recreate the flavour since, picked up our instruments and threw the rule books away. First though, to faithfully recreate the sounds of the seventies we equipped ourselves with two pairs of loon pants (purple and mauve), brown glitter encrusted platform boots with 5 inch heels, cheese cloth shirts and genuine Afghans. We also had an Afro hairdo, and then, and only then, did we feel ready to proceed on our sonic journey!

Recording technology circa 1973 was of course rudimentary by today’s standards and the attention to precision playing was much more ‘relaxed’. The music flowed through an attitude rather than a set of criteria. The timing was most definitely out but the vibe was definitely in. Check out some really old vinyl, listen to the players, there are gaps big enough to park lorries in but somehow it’s all part of a brilliant sound picture.

Vocals that would be auto tuned or corrected were left to dissonance, percussion that would be now be audio quantised retained its loose swing. Electric pianos that are now endlessly mimicked by Japanese developers were the genuine article with malfunctioning pick ups and noisy amps. Drop one on your foot whilst setting up on stage and you’d be out of action for weeks! Guitar processors that now convey pristine clarity through digital convertors then hissed and crackled adding yet more filth into the mix. Pedals had names like ‘Electric Mistress’ evoking the possibility of an exciting night if you impressed the girl in the front row!

Valve amps and compressors added warmth (and noise) through analogue desks which looked like something out of Jules Verne, to 2 inch tape machines the size of milk floats, the end result being bounced onto another tape thing before being mastered onto vinyl.

But that was then and this is now, and in the new century we can look back at an iconic period in sound production that will echo through the decades, maybe even through centuries to come. A sound picture where the producer’s initiative and creativity would make a real difference, and could create a genuine new sound. Many of those artists never made it far into the eighties and when Solid State Logic and Digital arrived in about 1981, times had changed for ever.

In 2004, there isn’t a 70’s artist who hasn’t been sampled, not just the Icons, but even Chas and Dave, playing as respected musos in ’75 on a Labi Siffre song, have turned up on an Eminem track! Almost every modern producer has 'borrowed' from old records, some legally, and some have ended up in court with royalties being re-directed to the original copyright holder.

We already had original guitars and basses from the 70's and before, and soon managed to borrow a Fender Rhodes and a Wurlitzer EP as well as a Hammond with a massive Leslie cabinet with something like a propeller in it. We enlisted the help of a seventies keys man and a horn player to complete the picture and set to work creating the loops.

We decided to give every loop two distinct sections that could be used within the same production and then recorded all of the breakdowns so the user could add and remove parts at will.

We decided too, to adopt ‘extreme panning’ on many loops to add that ‘stereo panned to both ends of our galaxy' feel and also from time to time mixed loops 'lumpy and bumpy' in an attempt to avoid any allegiance to modern technology.

Many synths like our ancient Crumar, which we used a lot, were amped instead of feeding direct and guitars were awash with spidery tones and liberal use of an old Cry Baby. We used a Gibson Les Paul standard (circa 1977) for almost all of the guitars and, surprisingly, most of the bass was undertaken on an old Aria Pro, after rejecting more sumptuous instruments, it just seemed to evoke the era more precisely, we played it through an old Selmer bass amp. Although most of the loops produced were in the funky vein we decided to tip our hat to a few other genres from the 70s: Glam, punk, prog and proto electronica.

In making these loops for you we went back to the drawing board, attempting to unlearn years of clean production skills and started to gather everything we'd need to take the sound back to the 70s. It was a bit like flying an old aircraft, a bit heavy, marginally uncontrollable, but at the end of the day a graceful and rewarding experience.

After all the initial work was finished we decided the only way to retain the funk was to have everything mastered onto vinyl through 70s valve compressors and EQs. We found a mastering suite deep in South London that ticked all the boxes and got everything transferred to a large stack of laquers, and then back into digital, it sounds….like the seventies!

So we’re off now on a couple of Raleigh Choppers, munching on our Curly Wurlies to see and Earth Wind and Fire tribute band….we hope you enjoy our seventies experience, we were lovin’ it!"

The Software Interface

The whole of this remarkable library is presented within a stunning state-of-the-art plug-in interface by Native Instruments which is a version of their Intakt sampler, which was specifically designed for rhythmic loop playback, manipulation, and mayhem.

The convenient one-screen interface features tremendous sound shaping abilities without disrupting the creative flow, including a first-class multimode filter, an envelope follower, two LFOs, effects, and more. The loops have been set up so that they can be automatically synced to tempo, either via the Beat Machine or the Time Machine. The Beat Machine has loops divided into their individual hits or notes (slices) which means they can be played at a wide range of tempos without change in pitch. It also allows the user to give each hit or note individual settings for pitch, playback direction, pitch envelope, amp envelope, distortion, delay, and more; a MIDI file of each loop can be easily exported so that groove, accent, and feel can be manipulated in any host sequencer.

The Time Machine time-stretches or compresses loops in real time. Not only can you sync, stretch, and pitch the loops, but also filter, effect and modulate them as well! A powerful sound-shaping filter, flexible envelopes, syncable LFOs, and distortion, syncable delay, and lo-fi effects can inject even more energy and individuality into the loops, as well as into the synths, pads, textures and everything else in this absolutely authentic and inspiring sound library. Since the software interface is a version of NI's superb Intakt engine, working with it is fast, easy, and sounds great!

EP Character and Beyond

The original Rhodes™ pianos provided timbre and volume adjustments by
letting you position the tines in rela­tion to the pickups. These
adjustments were at the heart of the electric piano's character as they
con­trolled the harmonic content, attack, and decay of the
sound—offering unique tone to each player. But there was a price for
this flexibility, several painstaking hours with a screwdriver and
incredible patience was needed to change the sound of an electric
piano.

Suffer no more—With Lounge Lizard, the preset library provides a
selection of thoroughly chosen Tine/Pickup configu­rations but you also
have the ability to make those adjustments in real time via two simple
controls: Distance and Symmetry.

But it doesn't end there, since controls are provided for the various
electro­mechanical components, Lounge Lizard can be pushed far beyond

Toontrack EZX Vintage Rock is an expansion pack for Ezdrummer.

The Ludwig Drum Company had little idea what was about to hit them in the months following February 9th 1964, The Beatles debut U.S. Television appearance on The Ed Sullivan Show. The band were a sensation and almost overnight everyone wanted to own a set of Ludwig drums just like Ringos. In fact, Ludwig were still struggling to keep up with demand when along came another drumming icon John Bonham. As well as his use of the Supraphonic snare drum, Bonham popularised larger sizes, including the 24" bass drum similar to the one sampled for the Vintage Brushes and Sticks EZX. This 60s era Ludwig set belongs to 2khz Studio owner Nick Yeatman and Toontrack were very happy he lent it to them so they could capture that phat and funky Ludwig sound!

VOKATOR’s FFT spectral engine is a milestone in vocoder development. Previous vocoders used eight, sixteen, twenty, or even thirty-two frequency bands – the more frequency bands, the smoother and creamier the effect. In addition to its stunningly transparent, full-resolution operation, VOKATOR’s bands can even be grouped together for a convincing vintage-vocoder emulation. Fully Configurable Design

A pair of vocoding channels can either be spectrally combined or played independently. Channel A can be switched between an integrated file player or external input A, while Channel B can be set to a full-featured synthesizer, a time-stretching granular sampler, or external input B. For a traditional vocoder effect, the frequency spectrum of the external input would be controlled by the synthesizer, but VOKATOR’s capabilities are much more advanced than simple vocoding.

VOKATOR is both an effect plug-in and a vocoder-based synthesizer. Its synthesizer features an advanced dual-oscillator design with dynamic preset morphing controlled by the modulation wheel. Welcome to Maestro, a monophonic VST synthesiser, made with Synthedit,
but with a difference. This synth has been designed from the ground up,
with the keyboard player in mind, and it features extensive, real-time
performance control via the modulation matrix, making it one of the most
expressive VST synths around.

Although for a monosynth it’s quite heavy on the CPU (av. 9%),
it is capable of some very big sounds.

Ideally you should use a MIDI keyboard with aftertouch, Mod wheel,
Data slider, and a foot pedal. But it’s not absolutely necessary,
as most VST hosts will allow you to write MIDI CC data into a track.

The main features are:

- Two oscillators with the standard SE waveforms

- 2 pole to 4 pole low pass filter

The Blue Tubes Analog TrackBox is not an update or a
replacement for our very popular Blue Tubes Bundle,
but complementary unit that incorporates a
substantially different combination of elements. The
Blue Tubes Analog TrackBox is an all-purpose channel
strip tool designed with the ultimate in sound
quality and audio character for maximum musical
flexibility.

The Tube-Emulator section has the unique option of
being able to switch between two different sounding
tube options from Single-Triode to Dual-Triode. The
independent Amount and Color controls permit
overdrive of the Tube-Emulator stage to vary the
harmonic content of the signal.

The Gate/Expander section tames the noise floor so
that you hear only the audio you want to keep. This
fully-adjustable gate/expander reduces (or cuts) the
signal if the level becomes too low (as determined by
the Gate Threshold setting). This controls unwanted
background noise on the track(s). Like a compressor,
the Attack and Release controls determine how fast
the gate opens and closes.

The Compressor section, derived from our popular Blue
Tubes Compressor CP2S emulates analog compressors in
terms of looks, functions, and warm analog sound
found in vintage compressors to provide the classic
feedback response unique to the characteristics of
the Blue Tubes Analog TrackBox.
